Say NO to the Sam Tax

Here's how you can fight back. Refer this to the ballot. Email me at Victoria@kpam.com to get in the queue to get your petition to stop this.
Hear who's involved in the referral, here. Listen at 5pm at KPAM 860 for more details.
It's not the business of Portland city government what kind of car you drive, but Sam Adams says it is. He's willing to go to the mat to change water billing from quarterly to monthly to make his Car Tax more palatable, which tells me:
1) this isn't "temporary" (15 years--long enough for you to forget about it),
2) it won't stay $4.50/household for long,
3) they want us to "trust" them. I understand why they would want us to, but the question is why would we?
Tax money has been spent

  1. Hi Victoria. Your listeners and readers should know that Americans for Prosperity - Oregon is also on board the coalition. We need as many people involved in this effort as possible, and I really appreciate what you're doing here.

  4. Due to my job position I can not push around a petition (Rules). But I will be on the lookout to sign one immediately and point out to anyone that they should sign it.

  6. You can bet that once Sam and his fellow Tommy Toadies get their grubby paws on this money, ostensibly to be used for repaving the streets and filling potholes, they will find other, more "essential" ways to spend it. Think light rail, trams, bike paths and bike bridges, zoo bomber facilities (maybe a rest area for Porta-potties half way down the hill), warming huts for the anarchist protesters in front of their next victims' store, or whatever.

You can't trust any of this bunch, especially since they don't want the people to vote on it, fearing that it might be voted down. As it should be.
