OBAMA the man from A.C.O.R.N.

We've talked of this on the air, maybe you heard it. But National Review puts it into the printed page (here) and I thank them. As you may know, Obama's "community organizing" was as a trainer with 'ACORN,' a faaaaaaar left, radical group which purports to help the poor, and I'm sure does, sometimes, but also acts as a conduit for far left politics and policies. It was through ACORN and the boards on which he served (which funneled money to ACORN) that he met Weather Underground buddy Bill Ayers.
As a 5th Listener to the show responded when we went through our audio files of wonderful ACORN moments (among the items here, here, here), she wrote me and told me of her brother who went to work for ACORN and was immediately knocking on doors for Barack Obama. Love it. Weren't they supposed to be helping the poor or something????

  2. From A.C.O.R.N's website:

"Voter participation: Over the last four years, we have helped more than 1.6 million low- and moderate-income and minority citizens register to vote."

Wow. That's so radical and faaaaar left! No wonder you righties are scared.

  3. Acorn works on housing, schools, neighborhood safety, health care, job conditions, and homelessness.

Why do some republicans refuse to embrace these issues?

  4. Sarah,
What is so radical about about increasing voter participation?

Well it is radical when it is illegal and FRAUDULENT.

8 ACORNs plead guilty in Missouri:

7 ACORNs idicted in Washington State and found guilty:

6 different states with ACORN convictions or investigations:

And that is just for starters.

  5. Obviously Sarah, I'm talking about the voter fraud that ACORN sells along with their real registrations. Do your homework or at least look up the links I conveniently left for you. Check out Coyote's stuff as well.

  6. Well, two of the links don't work, coyote. But the one that did said this:

"The workers were not trying to commit election fraud but merely to make it easier to perform their temporary, low-wage jobs, prosecutors said. "

They broke the law, and that's obviously wrong. They should have been found guilty.

But, this was the stupidity of a few people. It's not like ACORN trains people to be fraudulent. That would defeat their purpose.

  7. Victoria... this is from one of your links:

    "
ACORN officials in Kansas City said they turned in the four people who were indicted.

"We're very happy that they were indicted," said Claudie Harris with ACORN.

"When you fraudulently defraud this, that gives us a bad name and what we're trying to do a bad name," Harris said.
    "

    ACORN turned them in!

It is simply a liability concern orgnaizations have to deal with when they hire large groups of people to do signiture gathering. It doesn't mean they condone fraud. Its individual people- and trust me they were fired because of it. It happens to republican organizations too.
FYI: heres a case where the republican group managers were tossing out democratic voter reistrations:

  10. Thank you, Jonny!

    What's worse, people?

    • submitting false names that will never vote.

    • throwing out your opponents registrations.

    I ask you.

  11. ACORN is a political front-group funded by labor unions to get people to vote the way that labor wants them to vote. When Obama was organizing for ACORN he was a labor union organizer.

  12. ACORN TURNED THEM IN AFTER THE INVESTIGATION STARTED!

  13. It proves that A.C.O.R.N. helped manufacture votes after election day in Washington State. "Dino" will be the next Gov. of Washington State, But O-BOMB-A has problems with his ACORN (COMMUNITY SERVICE - yea right) activity. Reverend Wright will be smiling over this one. POOR O-BOMB-A
