Thanks to a law passed by Spain, thousands of Cuban citizens may be able to claim Spanish Citizenship and leave Cuba to be come part of the European Union.
Cubans line up for Spanish citizenship
Upwards of 300,000 may be eligible for citizenship.
We have been led to believe, by America's leftists, that Castro's Cuba is a Socialist Mecca, taking care of every citizen's concerns. With so many ready to take advantage of the new Spanish Law, it appears that isn't so.

I must have missed the memo that we, as America's liberal voters, feel that Cuba is a "Socialist Mecca" that "takes care of every citizen's concerns".
Where did you read this nonsensical information, Lew, that we're all Castro-loving wannabe-Cubans?
Or, more precisely, when exactly did you make that up?
Iknow: Cuba is not really a Socialist Mecca, per se, but rather a Communist Mecca.
iknow, or whoever you are today, ask Michael Moore, Danny Glover, Sean Penn, homey, Charlie Rangel, among others.
All have expressed favorable comments towards Castro's Cuba, especially Moore and Glover.
Try doing some homework, sometime, instead of thrusting your head back up where it goes.
Here's IKNOWISACOMMUNIST defending COMMUNIST CUBA.
IKNOW: CNN and TED TURNER would be proud of you.
Wow.
I only post as iknow, so I don't know what the "whoever you are today" thing means.
I thought we were at least on reasonable "speaking terms" and could be civil, but I don't post for a few weeks and the gloves come off, huh?
Funny, iknow. After your "Where did you read this nonsensical information, Lew, that we're all Castro-loving wannabe-Cubans?
Or, more precisely, when exactly did you make that up?", you accuse me of " taking the gloves off?"
LIke I said, try doing some homework.
Yes, I did, after you accused me of posting under multiple personas (I don't) and of having my head up my butt. You seem to have a stick up yours.
I'm glad that Danny Glover has such an impact on your life; apparently he has much more of one on yours than on mine.
There are approximately 67 million Americans who voted the Old Way of doing things out of the White House, Lew, and I promise you there's no conspiracy, no newsletter co-written by Danny Glover, Michael Moore, the Easter Bunny, Beelzebub, or any one else with some secret plan to take over the USA that we're all in on but you're not.
"Your" guys had their chance, and they blew it. Repeatedly. For eight years. EIGHT YEARS.
Now the Democrats have to come in and try to clean up the mess left behind by the worst administration possibly in American history.
You're an ignorant jerk sometimes, Lew. I have repeatedly tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, but it gets more and more difficult to do so. That's why I go long stretches without posting here. It hardly seems worth my time when everything disintegrates into juvenile name-calling. Including my own posts, now. But I guess that's the only way to get you to listen.
I find the "B HO" and "Homey" stuff particularly insulting, but fine. Do what you want.
I hope the next eight years are peaceful, constructive, and prosperous. I hope President Obama lives up to the potential of President Elect Obama. I hope that if he does, you'll concede that you were wrong, and admit that things are better -- if, in fact, they are.
You probably won't, but I can hope.
Iknow
You have been missing on the blog for a while. I was wondering why you didn't get back to me on the question I posed to you on the post in early December?
From Barracks Thank You Gift to Michelle, Dec 1 Post
You stated in an earlier post,
"I attack the policies, you attack a physical feature."
I responded to you,
You are certainly better than some of your compatriots on this blog, but many of your posts don't seem to dwell on policy either. I am not being totally critical of that because other factors including character are fair game, as well.
But for some one who proclaims shock at physical attacks and to deal with policies and not "name calling", please give me a reasonable explanation of your logo "Bush Sucks"?
Iknow, I don't think I am guilty of calling you names, but you never really got back to me on your logo and how it relates to policy?
Bush and his policies have been a complete and total disaster. Do you really need me to rehash 8 years of scandal and failure for you?
Bush and his policies have been Great for America.
Tax Cuts have been great.
America has been safe from terrorist attack for 7 1/2 years
He should have done more with Social Security reform though
(the biggest ponzi scheme invented ever)
President Bush should have tried to eliminate the CRA, COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT ACT and Fannie & freddie (the real reason for the Mortgage Bubble to Burst).
But theres time
Iknow
You indicate you deal with policies, but you continue to elude answering the real question about the logo --- What does "Bush sucks" --- really have to do with policy?
iknow, funny thing, Your comment accusing me of making it up is the very first one on this. Comments were made on other threads to 'me' about personas.
I fail to see where I accused you first.
No biggie, though.
While you may not embrace Castro's Cuba, several others do on the National level. Hence my comment.
I realize liberals love playing victim, even when they win, but ya'll are not victims any longer, you won it all.
As for homey's 4 years, I will give him the same exact chance and support ya'll gave Bush.
Personally, I find it quite amusing that you find homey and B HO insulting, but "Bush Sucks" is acceptable to you.
That is what your side has dished out these last 8 years and what you will receive back the next 4.
You all set the tone.
As i have asked before, why is it we can only be "together" if Democrats have total control?
Lastly, if you think Bush's policies have been a disaster, just wait and see how you are doing 2 years from now.
It will take generations to correct the pending harm coming from total Socialist Demokratik Politburo control.
Pete, "Bush Sucks" because the tone and policies of this administration have sucked. And who sets the tone and policies? The Decider himself!
If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck ... and if the policies suck and the administration sucks ...
You get it, right? Maybe he's a good father, maybe he's a terrific husband. Great if he is. But as President, he sucks. Plain and simple.

As for Bush's eight years and how he was "treated: from the beginning , a big difference with Obama is that his administration clearly won the election, and it didn't take a controversial series of rulings and legal tiptoeing to make it official.
To many Americans such as myself, who - unlike others - readily embrace the fact that Al Gore WON the popular vote and may have won Florida (and, therefore, the White House) if a full recount had been properly scheduled and performed, Bush was not an authentic, legitimate President. There is no such issue with Obama, despite how hard some may claim that he's not a US citizen with your "9/11 Truth"-worthy conspiracy theories.
So right from the start, the tone of the administrations are (or should be) completely different.
After 9/11, many Americans who voted for Gore - myself included - watched George Bush seem to take proper control of the situation in the first few days. Watching him standing in the rubble of ground zero with rescuers was very emotional even for me, and I thought he did an excellent job of trying to lift the country's morale. I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
But then it all fell apart ... All the goodwill he had with me disappeared, much in the same way the good will of the world toward the US started to evaporate.
He chose revenge instead of justice.
He got us into an unnecessary war.
He (ab)used "signing statements" as a means to change laws he didn't like or with which he didn't agree.
He set an agenda that gave the green light to torture and DOMESTIC wire tapping, despite assurances that only foreign sources were subject to spying.
He refused to accept science pretty much as a whole and had major portions of scientific research reports edited.
He appointed many to positions not because of qualifications, but because of loyalty or ideology.
Negotiations? Press conferences? What are those?
He has watched the economy absolutely tank under his watch.
But at least he seemed to enjoy his vacations.
So yeah, I'd say he's earned my disdain.
Bush, as President, has sucked. No question. It's an acceptable statement, because there's proof to back up why I feel that way.

"I fail to see where I accused you first" (of multiple personas).
Umm, above, Lew? Where you wrote :
"iknow, or whoever you are today ..."
I came back to visit the other day to see what the reaction to the Al Franken decision would be, and posted for the first time in weeks. If there was similar discussion in other threads, it's by coincidence, because I never read it (nor will I bother to go back and try to find it now).
Unlike you, Lew, I don't wish the feeling of misery that I've had for the better part of the last eight years upon you during Obama's 4 (or 8) years. I hope he does an exemplary job and starts to fix things, so that when his final days in office roll around you'll have to agree that he was a solid president. I don't know for certain that he will be, either, but I have hope.
Which is more than I've had for the last few years, to be sure.
Still trying with all the disproven DNC talking points, iknow?
It isn't that I wish ill on anyone, it's just that reality is setting in around us and those who caused it point fingers elsewhere and make it worse.
Oh, while I don't blame Gore for wanting a recount in 2000, Bush was clearly the winner in a close race in Florida. Independent recounts after the fact by liberal media confirmed it and went unreported, naturally.
Actually, not unreported, just buried where no one saw them.
Gore got beat at his own game and you've been stewing for 8 years.
So, once again, ya'll set the tone and will receive what you dished out. After all, we can't really call this a legitimate election with the extreme bias and kid glove treatment of homey, can we?
Can you imagine what they would have found had they dug at him like they did Bush?
