It was fun.. it was great.. there was over 150 people with us in that parade..
There were a few people booing us.. on comes to mind.. he had both thumbs down... and looking hurt that we were going by him.. but all in all. we were welcomed in that parade. It was hot.. but many many people clapped and cheered as we went by. They knew the score,
Krusty the Repubican Clown, we hardly knew ye! I heard it was a whoppin' 10 GOP teabaggers who joined the clown. Even the American Legion wouldn't attend the right-wing Repubican anti-Obama hatefest.
Wow Me.. you pull out a Wisconsin Newspaper Article huh? Try getting your articles a little closer to your home state next time.
Well at Hillsboro Oregon.. the Tea Party, 9/12 Project and Americans for Prosperity had over 150 People in that parade.. I was there. I have PHOTOGRAPHIC evidence of the event so don't even TRY to marginalize our little event.. because you make yourself look like a FOOL for doing it.
Kitanis, I think what the article is attempting to point out is that even the American Legion sees the Teabagging Parties as solely Republican organized.
On a side note, even though "Me" maybe undershooting your numbers, 150 people for a weekend July 4th Parade is weak. That is the same amount of Republicans that probably would have turned out regardless of a teabagging or not. Sad turnout to say the least especially for those that claim they are patriots and that the country is in peril. Not in peril enough, seemingly.
The "New Way Forward" folks had double that count on a weekday morning in Beaverton. I guess they see the raiding of the treasury by banks, corporations and the pirates on Wallstreet important enough to show up. Maybe all the Republicans had beer and hotdog parties to attend on the 4th?
One more thing, you shouldn't go bragging about 150 people because you definately look like a FOOL for doing that.
Let me ask you a question.. and I do want a honest answer.. not one from Moveon.org or your normal "Republicans drink beer and party" statements.
Do you acknowledge that our government is based on the US Constitution? Or do you believe that the Government is the answer to every problem that comes along.
Even I acknowledge that there was a problem on Wall-Street with trading of mortgage back securities. But there was another side to that problem that you probably will not admit too..
First off.. Mortgage backed securities became a problem due to the bundling of mortgages became very very common in this country because the Government mandated that even people who could not afford a mortgage, would be approved.. and this was in the 1990's. A Well meaning Senate speardrived that program to "get people into homes". The Result.. some stupid traders on Wall-Street bet the farm on that.. worldwide. But it was GOVERNMENT who started the ball rolling on that.. and I wonder how many Senators and Congressman made money off that move....
I wonder what you mean by Corporations though.. are you refering to the TARP Money? You know.. the program that gave money to the AutoMakers. The rank and file of the Republicans were sceaming NO.. and the Idiots in office.. both Republican and Democrat went and did it anyway.
Your right Abel.. there was a few folks who through greed, caused their firms to over extend themselves. Dispite the laws in this country that were designed to stop them from doing this.
But I noticed one thing.. the reaction is.. to not only punish the people who can be charged and put in jail.. you progressives want to just put more and more government controls on the process.. which was a major factor on how we got there in the first place..
We also walked in the (very long, very hot!) parade - our numbers were over 200 at which they discouraged any more because the parade organizers didn't want it to get too big and slow the parade flow. We also had multiple vehicles including a vintage troop carrier that we used for some folks who wanted to be with us but couldn't walk that far. We ran out of postcards to pass out (5,000!) about 2/3 of the way through, had people asking us for them. Comparing notes we only tallied six people who were negative, many who cheered for us. Very good publicity overall, great day. Sorry for any who missed it, sorrier for those who feel a need to tear down good folks like these.
