The Teachers union in the Gresham Barlow School Districts is paying a little call on the substitute teachers who may be called to take their place in a possible strike. Hear the phone call here.
The phone calls are a brush back pitch by the teachers union, of course, saying in essence, "Sure would be a shame if anything happened to some certain person who might choose to cross a picket line."
Students walked out at Barlow High School this afternoon. A parent tells me they're upset about the possibility of the block schedule going away next school year. Students taking an hour off from school to support teachers? The message appears to be, "Give the teachers what they want or I'll skip school."
As Dan Rather would say, "Courage."
