The "story" which includes this phrase, "Now, obviously, this is a statement by one person so it's veracity has to be established," was the latest, laughably dishonest attempt to smear Romney about his taxes. He's released his records as Governor and now Presidential candidate.
It links to another blogger over at HuffPo which includes the apparent meat of the story: speculation from Harry Reid.
I understand why Harry Reid would want to make a splash about JSG talking about something or somebody else. After all, this disaster of a "leader" hasn't produced or passed a budget for three years.
But Harry, I'm pretty sure the American people are more interested in President Obama passing the biggest tax increase in human history--and planning to add to it!--than they are in Mitt's taxes.
The more desperate you sound, the more confident I become.

Sort of like Obama's Treasury Secretary who in that reality show called politics paid no taxes, yet was absolved/anointed by the then newly elected President without regard for any financial due diligence. Hum, and so if Romney doesn't display his taxes, explain how we would be any worse off?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point, Pete. How about this one:
DeleteWhite House staffers owe more than $800,000 in back taxes
"Triumphant"? Did you actually say triumphant? Are you on something?
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, ROMONEY is going to make a fool out of Reid by releasing his returns. What am I saying? Of course he will not release them. Ronald Reagan said trust and verify. You move Willard.
Iago the American people don't seem to care.....they don't care that he didn't pay taxes, they don't care that he was not a Massachusetts resident when he ran for governor and perjured himself before a committee that investigated this in 2002.....they don't care that he sent jobs abroad or destroyed all the documents from when he was head of the Olympics and governor...they don't care that he was an Olympic lobbyist that resigned his credentials when local officials were accused of taking bribes.....they don't care that he embarrassed us in front of the world and had inappropriate meetings with Israel.....they also don't see the difference between where we were in 2008 and where we are today....they don't get that the ACA is about providing health coverage for middle class people and it will help employees leave large employers and start their own thing so we can have growth from the middle for the first time.....the American public is short sighted....it is this kind of thinking that got us in trouble in the first place and allow people like Romney to take advantage of us.
ReplyDeleteThis one's real easy, Mitt. Release your tax returns and refute this claim, or don't, and let folks speculate on what you're hiding -- and if you don't release your returns, you're indeed hiding something.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is a damning charge, even more so because Mittens lack of response suggests it's true, and if it is, bye bye to whatever slight chance you had to win in the first place.
Add to this, if it's not true, you'd think the Mitt campaign would stumble all over itself to refute it, but so far, crickets.
I'll bet it's true. And if it is, Mitt's not only toast, he's moldy, burnt toast with rancid jelly smeared all over it.
