Portland Mayor Sam Adams has once again attempted to demonize guns in his shallow reaction to the horrid Aurora, Colorado theater murders.

Last week's murders were the acts of a mad man, no more, no less. Twelve souls were snuffed out. Dozens more were injured in that theater.

| ADAMS TRIES TO MAKE DISTINCTION BETWEEN "GUN MURDERS" AND OTHER MURDERS. |

Adams should know that getting rid of guns as he desires to do (see tweets nearby) doesn't work. Just take a look at his attempts to stop "gun murders" as he calls them (see his older tweets about this nearby) among gang members to take their guns. If a felon has a gun, he's in violation of his probation. Fair enough; take the gun. But has the effort to grab the gang guns resulted in less crime and violence on Portland's streets?
Nope.

In fact we're currently witnessing some of the worst gang violence in Portland's history. Interesting, those crazy people still manage to kill people even when they don't have the gun. That's because, Sam It Ain't the Gun, It's the Crazy.
Hi Victoria,
ReplyDeleteSam might want to re think his position on guns. Last week, the Oregonian said he was "miffed" at the higher cost ($30 million)of the new Sellwood Bridge. If memory serves, Sam was counting on the "savings" he foresaw from the the bridge project to fund Portland's share of Milwaukie light rail. He might need a gun to get the people to make up this new deficit.
