Aloha Woman Arrested for Shooting Gun During Argument About Gun Safety

From Washington County Sheriff's Office: "51-year-old Susan Fleming was having a dispute ... over gun safety including the proper handling of loaded firearms.  At some point during the argument, Ms. Fleming allegedly picked up a loaded 12 gauge shotgun and intentionally fired one shot into the wall while the male was in the same room.  It is believed that Ms. Fleming was not attempting to shoot at the male.

Sheriff's Deputies located a hole about the size of a baseball

that penetrated the wall and caused damage to the siding neighbor's house.  It was an exterior wall comprised of sheetrock on the inside with a fiberboard exterior.  The shotgun shell was BB shot comprised of dozens of small lead BBs commonly used for bird hunting.  Fortunately, the BB shot did not penetrate the neighbor's house.  There were no injuries in this incident.

Susan Fleming was arrested and is lodged in the Washington County Jail.  She was charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing, Recklessly Endangering another Person, and second degree Criminal Mischief.  She is being held on $50,000 bail."

I have nothing more to add.

  1. Gee. I'da thought the man was correct. I never would have imagined the pellets from a measly 12 gauge would have penetrated the paint on the wall, let alone go clear through!
