The head of the Family Research Center, Tony Perkins, has responded to the shooting yesterday in which a crazed man carried Chick fil A bags and a 9mm gun with 50 rounds of ammo into the Christian organization because "he didn't agree with" their political views. Those political views include traditional marriage--you know, that extremist view that marriage should be between one man and one woman.
Perkins issued a throw down to the Southern Poverty Law Center during a news conference. He told them to clean up their rhetoric and cease their reckless characterizations of organizations like FRC as "hate groups."
Perkins claimed such characterizations emboldened the gay rights activist to take a gun--and bags containing 15 Chick fil A sandwiches--and shoot up the place.
