This is from a 5th listener: I was raised in a family that voted Democrat right down the line. When I asked my Mom why, she said "because things always go better when we have a Democrat President" and I took her at her word.
After I got married I voted Democrat for 15 years because that's what my Teamster husband told me I should do. I was very young.
When I met my current boyfriend of 11 years he taught me how to look deeper into issues. I waited until after the Primaries last time to change my party affiliation. I wanted to vote for Hilary because I thought if would be easier for John McCain to beat her. I was a Romney supporter in 2008 and wasn't thrilled with McCain, but thought he was the lesser of two evils as the saying goes.
My Mom thinks my boyfriend has brainwashed me but all he did was show me to do my own research and make my own decisions whether I agreed with him or not.
