“Water flowed over the top of a flood defense in southeast Louisiana early on Wednesday, threatening serious flooding, after huge rains caused by Hurricane Isaac.”
So overtopping; is that any better than breaching??
Where is the media outrage over wasted stimulus dollars. Where is the media’s castigation of the Administration for its slowness in dealing with insufficient levees; levees which can’t even withstand a Category One Hurricane? Where are the endless headlines proclaiming the Administration for its ineptitude, indifference and insensitivity to the residents of New Orleans and the surrounding area, especially given what was learned in the aftermath of Katrina?
Good to hear you again, Pete.
ReplyDelete$14B? I disagree.
Unless I missed it, you ignore whatever the original costs were for the levees since the Corps started taking care of them. Plus the >$70 Billion to rebuild New Orleans, so let's guess 100 Billion tax Dollars so far. And this is rising with every powerful storm.
Sorry, nowadays, with the U.S. being purposely diminished as a world leader, Dollars should probably no longer be capitalized. So make that >100 billion dollars.
