Andy McCarthy points out in our interview today (
here) that there's no surprise we saw anarchist symbols and Guy Fawkes masks in the crowd storming the US Embassy in Cairo. He's written a book about it.
In his book The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America, he warns of, as Heritage described it,
"...[T]he government’s active appeasement of Islamism and its ideology. With the help of witting and unwitting accomplices in and out of government, Islamism doesn’t merely fuel terrorism but spawns America-hating Islamist terrorist enclaves in our very midst, gradually foisting the repressive concepts of sharia law on American life. The revolutionary doctrine has made common cause with an ascendant Left that also seeks radical transformation of our constitutional order."
McCarthy spoke recently to the Heritage Foundation on his book.
This is a battle among extremists. Muslim extremists in the middle east and the right wing extremists here who produced and promoted the anti-religious film.
ReplyDeleteHi bricklayer,
ReplyDeleteJust a short trip down memory lane here...the National Endowment for the Arts has used federal funds to promote a ton of anti christian art including the Cucifix in the jar of urine photo and the "Black Madonna" painting adorned with elephant dung on the frame. So I assume your not advocating violence against left wing extremists who promote and produce anti religious art as well. If so, I guess you support violence against abortion doctors.
You might want to take another run at explaining yourself before you anger some "extremist" somewhere.
noone is listening to you Victoria, take the blog down, cancel your radio program. you are losing, you are wrong and you clearly dont understand middle east politics.
ReplyDeleteHi vote,
ReplyDeleteEvidently you still are. Care to explain middle east politics to us?
You can read and educate yourself just as I do Mike, dont be so lazy, I am not going to reduce a vast and complicated history and political climate to a few paragraphs on a blog. I am sure most conservatives are used to oversimplification of issues through slogans. But, that isnt really the responsible way of addressing these issues.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, you have two readers of the blog, Mike and I. Yay.
Hi Vote,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your concern. : ) I'm glad that you take the time to read and educate yourself, we'd be a lot better off if more of us did.
Not to oversimplify here, but bricklayer's original assertion was that these deaths were the results of two extremists and the denigration of a religion. My response to him was there were plenty of examples in the USA of the deigration of another religion, some of it paid for by tax payers and asked if memebers of that religion would be justified in taking similar action. Bricklayer seems to be saying that the Ambassador and the other three deserved what they got.
The problem is that in addition to our few, there are tens of millions of theirs. None of whom follow your advice to read and educate themselves before killing people. There is simply no comparison in proportion of the "provocation" and the response, but that's the difference between the 21st and 14th Centuries in terms of socialization and tolerance.
yes, you may be referring to John Ball and his famous quote, "When Adam delved and Eve span, who was then the gentleman?". We certainly do not have this question arising in todays socialist movements. And I trust less of the distribution of "commons" than was available at that time would ever be available to us now. But really, our conversation is perplexing to many, and thats what makes us truly Independant.
ReplyDeleteHi vote,
ReplyDeleteI have no idea of what that means, I never got psst Heinz Guderian's "Don't slap them, punch them". You have a war of values here which I understand. However, each of these nations are UN members and obstensibly are committed to the UN bill of rights which are essentially western puralistic democratic values. As an independent thinker, you have to choose which set of values you find the most attractive....I have..ours.
