Wait, that's not a direct quote. The direct quote is Paul Ryan is Josef Goebbels.
Democrat John Burton, in the meantime, has left Charlotte and gone back to California for a "pre arranged root canal."
Sometimes I wonder if Pelosi is as stupid as she sounds. You can watch the video HHS Sec Sebilius in front of Congress saying that's exactly what happened and admitted they "double counted" that 716 bilion dollars to make Obmamcare come in under a trillion dollars as "promised". Latest CBO estimate is now almost 2.6 trillion over the next 10 years.
I don't know if calling him a Nazi is too strong. He is a proven serial liar and purveys Nazi-like propaganda. Let's not forget that he was part of the January 20, 2009 Republican conspiracy to keep the economy down. Traitor? I think so.
Well, rhubarb, so much for the separation of church and state...I think they believe abortion is immoral too.
I know space is limited here iago, but perhaps you could sketch out that Republican conspiracy to keep the economy down for those of us less well inbformed. Hmmmm, is that why no Republicans voted for health care or they ddin't help raise government spending 28% in one year? I'd love to hear more....I'm sure we could have been over $20 trillion in debt if not for their traitorous activites. Oh by the way....has your health care bill gone down $2800.00 as the President promised?
Nobody's asking you stop drinking the kool aid, but you could at least try thinking for yourself. If it makes you feel any better, instead of the Nazi reference, how about we use some left wing propagandists. I'm Beria would love to be the one enforcing the health care mandate, er, penalty, er tax.....well it won't matter as long as you believe.
In Robert Draper's book, "Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives" Draper wrote that on January 20, 2009 during a four hour, "invitation only" meeting with GOP Hate-Propaganda Minister, Frank Luntz, the below listed Senior GOP Law Writers literally plotted to sabotage, undermine and destroy America's Economy.
The Guest List: Frank Luntz - GOP Minister of Propaganda Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA), Sen. Jim DeMint (SC-R), Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ-R), Sen. Tom Coburn (OK-R), Sen. John Ensign (NV-R) and Sen. Bob Corker (TN-R). Non-lawmakers present Newt Gingrich
During the four hour meeting: The senior GOP members plotted to bring Congress to a standstill regardless how much it would hurt the American Economy by pledging to obstruct and block President Obama on all legislation.
These Republican members of Congress were not simply airing their complaints regarding the other party's political platform for four long hours. No, these Republican Congressional Policymakers, who were elected to do 'the People's work' were literally plotting to sabotage, undermine and destroy the U.S. Economy.
1. Ryan blamed the US credit rating downgrade on President Obama. But it was caused by the Republican Congress’s threat not to raise the debt ceiling.
2. Ryan continues to claim that President Obama said business owners did not build their own businesses. Obama said that business owners benefit from government infrastructure and programs, which they did not build.
3. Ryan depicted Obamacare as virtually a turn to Soviet-style totalitarianism, as incompatible with liberal freedoms for the individual. But the logical conclusion is that Ryan’s running mate, Mitt Romney, turned Massachusetts into a Gulag.
4. Ryan slammed President Obama for not implementing the deficit-cutting measures recommended by the Simpson-Bowles commission. But he himself voted against Simpson-Bowles.
5. Ryan keeps attacking Prsident Obama’s stimulus program now. But in 2002 when then President George W. Bush proposed stimulus spending, Ryan supported it.
6. Even more embarrassing, in 2010, Ryan asked for $20 million in stimulus money from Obama for companies in his district, then repeatedly denied requesting stimulus funds.
7. Ryan slammed President Obama for the closure of an auto plant that closed in late 2008 under George W. Bush.
8. Paul Ryan charges that Barack Obama has ‘stolen’ $700 billion from medicare for his Obamacare. In fact, these expense reductions do not cut Medicare benefits, and, moreover, Romney and Ryan supported these reductions!
9. Ryan continues to push his longstanding plans for a steal-from-the-elderly-and-give-to-the-rich medicare plan, which President Obama warned would cost ordinary recipients over $6000 a year extra. Politifact checked and rated Obama’s charge as correct, though they noted that the figures referred to CBO analyses of Ryan’s last plan, not his ‘new’ one, which hasn’t been subjected to similar analysis. Ryan certainly recently put forward a plan that would cost ordinary people that much extra.
10. Ryan neglected to note that under the tax plan he favors, Gov. Mitt Romney would pay less than 1% in annual federal taxes, highlighting Romney’s already low rate compared to ordinary Americans (slightly lower than Ryan’s own!) and putting the spotlight back where Ryan’s appointment was supposed to misdirect it.
Interesting.....did Draper explain how they were going to pull that off with democratic super majorities in both houses of congress and a democratic president for the first two years of his term? In addition to the stimulus bill, health care and the 490 billion supplemental spending bill were passed without a single republican vote....a whopping 28% in federal spending added to the base line in 2009. You add the stimulus and supplemental additions...about 1.3 trillion...just about what his deficits each year have been so far. You might also remember that each budget submitted by the president have not recieved any democratic votes either.
That kind of wild, out of control spending lead to the the remarkable GOP mid term victories in 2010. People are understandibly concerned about the level of debt and our ability to pay and democrats seem unwilling to explain how it will be paid other than rail about Warren Buffet paying less than his secretary. Somehow it seems that many democrats are willing to destroy the fabric of the country to get some payback on the "rich" while forgeting that most of their leaders are rich. I got news for you, the average person smart enough to get rich is smart enough to avoid such schemes...they just move.
A simple exercise is to go to Forbes.com and look up the value of the richest people in the US. You could confiscate everything they own and run teh government for about six months...then what do you next year.
I appreciate you taking the time to answer, but you need to ask simple questions to place things in perspective. When the President was a senator and called Bush "Unamerican" for wanting to raise the debt ceiling and then turning around a mere three years later to do the same as President. Or, why did the democrats retain the Bush tax cuts when they could have gotten rid of them? About an hour ago, we officially hit $16 trillion in debt, with $17 trillion next spring. The President has increased the debt by 30% all on his own.
I'm willing to give the President the benefit of the doubt that he thought the stimulus would work. It didn't, only 6% of all that money went to "shovel ready" jobs, the rest mailnly to keep public employees on the job. He promised that the unemployement rate would be 5.6% by now, it's 8.3.
Conspiracies often provides simpler explanations for complex subjects, but facts are facts.
I believe that is more writing in one post than you have in all of your others combined. Glad to see the discussion. The only problem with your post is you haven't identified any lies.
1. Your assumtion is that our credit rating gets better with the more we borrow with no way to pay it back.
2. People do benefit from government infrastructure, but that only provides the base for economic activity by others. Even the President doesn't believe that because he kept the millions he made on his two books despite them being transported over infrastructure paid for by others.
3. That's not a lie either, because Romneycare won't prosecutre you for failing to buy it. The President said the individual mandate was not a tax, teh supreme court disagreed.
4. Ryan thought there weren't enough cuts in Simpson-Bowles. Even his "extremist radical" budget doesn't balance the budget till about 2038.
5. The stimulus package for Bush worked...average unemployment for the Bush term 5.6% even with the Clinton .com bubble, 9/11, and two wars. Even with that, his 8 years of deficit is less than 3 1/2 under the President.
6. Perhaps, but pretty small compared to Obama insisting that 716 billion dollars was not taken from Medicare.
7. The plant closed in March 2009. The President promised to keep it open, he didn't.
8. Not true, the 716 Billion was "double counted" by democrats to keep the cost of Obamacare under it's promised 1 trillion dollar cost. HHS Secretary Sibbelius admitted that to congress. Of course, with a 1.5 trillion deficit that year, there never was any money...just an accounting trick. Like those Clinton budget surpluses.
9. I got news for you, it's going to cost everyone extra. The social security trustees say Medicare goes broke in 2024.. that's 12 years from now. Ryan says it will cost you more, Obama tells you not to worry...Ophrah Winfret will pay. You choose whose closer to the truth.
10. I have no idea what your trying to say here. Romney, like Buffet pays a lower rate because his income is from capital gains not straight income. President Obama only paid 21% of his income last year in federal taxes and John Kerry only 12% on his $7.5 million dollar income in 2003. Hilary Clinton in 2008 only released one year of tax returns because her husband didn't want to reveal the sources of the 109 million dollars of income he made since leaving office...not to mention the sources of mnoney for his 245 million dollar Presidential library.
I don't mind people having passion for their issues, but simple differences of opinion are not lies and using that term loosely only undercuts the credibility of your argument. In fact, the only known liar here is Bill Clinton, who was cited for civil perjury and was stripped of his law license. it's only fair to apply your standards to both sides.

I'm sure Joseph Goebbels is smiling somewhere.
The Catholic bishops did say that his buget was immoral.
