Pepper Spray Chick: GUILTY

ORIGINAL PHOTO: RANDY RASMUSSEN, OREGONIAN

From the Oregonian:
The 22-year-old college student who personified the Occupy Portland movement when she was photographed receiving a blast of pepper spray in the face last year was found guilty Thursday on two counts of failing to obey police.
The woman is also suing the Portland Police Bureau for excessive force. Her attorney says this decision will not bear on that case. Heh.

  2. Hi Victoria,

Today's maudlin article on these folks in the Oregonian is the perfect epitaph for Occupy's slacker revolution; ending not in bang but a whine over an $82.00 fine. You'd have thought he'd been sentenced to Guantanamo. So bereft of vision, energy, work ethic, or a desire to improve his own situation, that $82.00 fine might has well have been a million.

It's disheartening that so many of these college educated people can be so ignorant of life that they thought they could run riot for 5 weeks and not be held accountable...if you call it that. I suppopse that's the real test to determine if your oppressed, whether it motivates you to struggle. Obviously these folks aren't down for the struggle. If the civil rights movement had been made up of these folks, I susect that Jim Crowe would be more that just a whiskey,

The sadder conclusion will the pepper spray lady will sue and win, making her and her attorney instant 1%ers at the expense of the 99%.
